Day 01: Pick up from Delhi and drive to Haridwar (210 Kms / 4-5 Hrs.)
Pick up from Delhi Airport and transfer to Haridwar. Haridwar is one of the most popular Hindu pilgrimage places. Haridwar or ‘Gateway to Gods’ is also known by the names of Mayapuri, Kapila, and Gangadhar. Hindu pilgrims and devotees gather at Haridwar to offer prayers on auspicious occasions. The water of River Ganga is considered so sacred at Haridwar that pilgrims carry back the water from the Ganges. It is believed that Haridwar has been sanctified by the presence of three Gods: Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. Upon arrival check in at hotel. If time is permitted visit the Aarti at Hari Ki Pauri. Day 02: Haridwar (Kumbh Mela Snan)
After breakfasts enjoy Haridwar Kumbh Mela take a bath at river Ganges. It will clear your sins taking bath during Kumbh. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: (Kumbh Mela Snan) (Somvati Amavasya)
The Amavasya that falls on Monday is known as Somvati Amavasya . According to Hindu religion, women keep fast on this day to ensure a long life for their husbands. … This year, only one Amavasya is falling on Monday that is “Chaitra Amavasya”.
After breakfast you will visit the Kumbh Mela in full fervour. This great Indian Festival attracts the largest gathering of people on the planet for spiritual fulfillment. A large number of Sadhus (sages) with their disciples make Haridwar their home during Kumbh Mela. To live among the Sadhus, who have dedicated their entire lives to meditation and spiritual deeds is indeed a unique experience of life.
There are many Ashrams set up for this special occasion where the Sadhus along with disciples stay and have discourses about religion and Hindu philosophy. You may also join them and take advantage of their preaching to learn about the divine path to ‘Moksha’. There may also be an opportunity to interact with them and take pictures of them with their permission.
If you go by the Hindu mythologies, then this is the only time and place in the world where you can unburden your sins and achieve ‘Nirvana’ from the vicious cycle of birth and re-birth. Take dips in the holy water of Ganges that is said to wash away all the sins of a person. Light a Diya, attend Yoga sessions and make a wish, they do come true! After full day of hustle and bustle, returns to hotel enjoy the dinner. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: (Kumbh Mela Snan) (Nav Samvatsar)
After breakfast take a dip bath at the time of Gudi Padwa is the Marathi festival, which is celebrated because Hindu New Year (known as “Samvatsara” in Sanskrit) begins from this day. As per the Panchang, Nav Samvatsar begins from the Pratipada of Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) of Chaitra month. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: (Kumbh Mela Snan) (Mesh sakranti (shahisnan)
On Mesha Sankranti, Prayers are offered to the Sun God in celebration of the Solar New Year. Devotees make pilgrimage to holy places to mark this important Hindu festival. ‘Punya Kaal Mahurat’ is a time duration of ’40 Ghatis’ or 16 hours during which is considered auspicious for all activities such as taking bath in the holy river, offering ‘prasad’ and prayers to the Sun lord and offering charity to the needy. The important festival is celebrated with lot of fervour and festivity during Kumbh Mela. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06: Haridwar – Delhi (210 Kms / 5-6 Hrs.)
Pick from hotel and drive to Delhi. Upon arrival straight drive to airport for depart to onward destination.
